Yes. Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson told YouTuber TGG that GTA 6 has fishing, but it is catch and release only, so you can't keep or sell what you land. Fishing has its own challenges and collectibles instead.
Fishing has not appeared in a trailer yet. What we know comes from Rob Nelson's interview with TGG after the August preview at Rockstar North, as reported by GameSpot. Nelson said fishing is mainly there for fun, and that keeping your catch "didn't fit this game".
That is a change from Red Dead Redemption 2, where you could cook and eat the fish you caught. GameSpot points out that GTA 6 is set in the present day, so Jason and Lucia get their food from shops and restaurants rather than the wild.
The Ultimate Edition hints at where to go: its pink and blue Shitzu Squalo boat, docked at Washington Beach, is pitched for casting in Gambit Bay. Hunting works differently from fishing, and does pay. See our hunting entry.
