GTA 6 Online Release Date: Not Announced Yet

GTA 6 Online has no release date, because Rockstar has not announced an online mode for GTA 6 at all. GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as a single-player game, and the only public timing for multiplayer comes from Twitch's CEO, who said it would arrive "next year".

That makes 2027 a report, not a date. Here is everything that has been said, who said it, and how Rockstar handled online the last two times.

Clancy told Bloomberg that Twitch had spent "a lot of time talking with Rockstar about their plans", which is why his comment travelled. He runs Twitch, though, and was talking about viewing numbers. TweakTown notes that Bloomberg reads his remark as something he anticipates rather than confirms, and Polygon points out that Rockstar has neither confirmed nor denied it.

Dates from Rockstar's own Newswire posts. GTA Online was revealed a month before GTA 5 came out (IGN). GTA 6 is weeks from launch with no online mode named at all, which is the clearest sign yet that it will not follow the same pattern.

Is there a GTA 6 Online beta or early access?

No. Rockstar has not announced a beta, a test, a sign-up or early access for any online mode, and no edition of GTA 6 lists one. Red Dead Online did launch as a beta, so a test period is possible when the time comes. Rockstar announced that beta on its Newswire, and we would expect the same again, so treat any "GTA 6 Online beta sign-up" that is not on rockstargames.com as fake.

Release date on PS5, Xbox and PC

There is no date on any platform. GTA 6 is listed for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only, on Rockstar Support and both stores. A PC version has not been announced, so neither has online play on PC; our PC release tracker logs every claim about it.

What would tell us a date is coming

Rockstar announces its online launches on its Newswire, so that is where a date will appear first. Two other places would show it early: the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store listings, which today describe GTA 6 as a single-player experience, and Take-Two's quarterly calls with investors, where the CEO has so far declined to talk about it.

Our take: we would not plan around 2027. Clancy may well be right, and a separate launch some months after GTA 6 fits everything Take-Two has said. But "next year" came from a partner talking about viewing numbers, and Rockstar has not put a single word about GTA 6 online play on its own pages. Buy GTA 6 for its story. If you mainly want multiplayer, wait for Rockstar's own announcement; GTA Online on GTA 5 keeps getting updates in the meantime, and our GTA 6 Online hub will have the date the day it is posted.
