GTA 6 News Today (October 11, 2026): Rockstar in Court
The short answer
Rockstar's HR head is questioned at the Glasgow tribunal over the fired GTA 6 developers, and the PS5 Pro stays sold out as GameStop asks $1,399.99 used.

A quiet weekend from Rockstar: no new trailer, song or station since our October 9 roundup. The GTA 6 news came from a Glasgow courtroom, where Rockstar's HR head was questioned over the 2025 firings of more than 30 developers, and from shops, where the PS5 Pro is still sold out and GameStop now asks $1,399.99 for a used one. Nothing changed on dates or prices: GTA 6 still launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with preloading from November 12.
Rockstar's HR head questioned at the union tribunal
The employment tribunal over Rockstar's firings of developers in late October 2025 heard from its first Rockstar witness on October 9, Eurogamer and Kotaku report. Eurogamer says 31 former employees, backed by the Independent Workers' Union of Great Britain (IWGB), claim they were dismissed to stop a union, while Rockstar says the 34 people it fired were let go for gross misconduct, including leaking confidential information.
Charlie Kinloch, who runs HR at Rockstar Lincoln, was asked why Rockstar acted in October 2025 on Discord messages that had been reported to him months earlier by an anonymous employee the case calls "AB". Both outlets say his answer was the timing: the company was close to a major GTA 6 announcement, and he judged that a leak then would do real damage. "I viewed those messages with the scrutiny Rockstar Games was under in the run up to GTA6, which was unprecedented," Eurogamer quotes him. He also said he had "little interest" in whether individual staff were union members. Kotaku notes that Rockstar announced the delay to November 19, 2026 just days after the firings. The hearing continues next week.

The PS5 Pro is still sold out, and used ones cost $1,399.99
As of October 9, the PS5 Pro was out of stock at the big US retailers, PlayStation Direct included (Tom's Guide; BGR). GameStop now lists a used PS5 Pro at $1,399.99, Engadget and Tom's Guide report, $500 above Sony's US price of $899.99. That price has applied since April 2, 2026, when Sony raised it by $200 from launch (PlayStation Blog; Engadget). Tom's Guide and Engadget both tie the demand to GTA 6, and Engadget adds that tight memory chip supply is limiting how many consoles Sony can make.
What the Pro does for GTA 6 is still unknown. The PlayStation Store labels the game PS5 Pro Enhanced, but neither Rockstar nor PlayStation has said what that adds, and Rockstar's own gameplay showing was captured on a standard PS5. Our PS5 and Xbox page tracks what is confirmed for each console.

What it means for players
Our take: the tribunal is a serious story about how Rockstar treats the people who make its games, and we will follow it, but it does not touch your copy: the release date, price and platforms are where they were on Friday. On the PS5 Pro, do not pay $1,399.99. GTA 6 runs on the $649.99 PS5 and the Xbox Series X|S, the only footage Rockstar has shown came from a standard PS5, and nobody outside Rockstar knows yet how much better the Pro version looks. If you already own a PS5 or a Series X, keep it and put the money toward the game. If you are set on a Pro, wait for launch-week comparisons and a restock at $899.99 rather than paying a reseller's premium for an upgrade nobody has measured.
Not confirmed
- How long the PS5 Pro shortage lasts. In September, Playfront reported a Sony memo telling retailers it would last "through early 2027 at the earliest". Engadget and BGR repeat it, but all of them trace to Playfront, and Sony has not said it publicly.
- What PS5 Pro Enhanced means for GTA 6. No resolution, frame rate or effects detail from Rockstar or PlayStation.
- A Switch 2 or PC version. Neither is announced.
- Who plays Jason and Lucia. Rockstar still has not named its lead actors.
- A new trailer or TV ad. Rockstar has not announced either.
