GTA 6 and GTA+: What the Free Pre-Order Month Gets You

Digital pre-orders of GTA 6 come with one free month of GTA+, but GTA+ is not part of GTA 6. It is Rockstar's monthly membership for GTA Online on GTA 5, and the month renews at the regular price unless you cancel. On PlayStation you can claim it any time until March 31, 2027; on Xbox, within 180 days of your pre-order.

Here is how to claim it, what it gives you, and how to stop it renewing.

Who gets the GTA+ month

The PlayStation Store lists "One Month of GTA+" in both the Standard and Ultimate Editions, and both the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Store promise it for purchases made before November 19, 2026 at 23:59:59. PlayStation's offer terms add the details: you need the digital version of either edition, bought before November 20, 2026, and the offer runs in every PlayStation country store except Bahrain, China, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Russia and Taiwan. Xbox adds that the month cannot be redeemed on child accounts that restrict age-rated content. Because PlayStation lets you claim it whenever you like before the deadline, there is no rush: claim it the week you actually plan to play GTA Online.

What GTA+ gives you in GTA Online

From the Xbox Store's GTA+ listing and the Rockstar Store:

• GTA$500,000 in your Maze Bank account each month you are a member
• The Vinewood Car Club, with a vehicle to claim free each month and a 100-car garage
• Member-only Shark Cards with 15% extra GTA$
• Rotating member events every four to six weeks, with bonuses and cosmetics
• A rotating library of classic Rockstar games to download and play while they are included

All of these are for GTA Online. The Xbox listing says access to GTA Online for Xbox Series X|S is required for the GTA Online benefits, and that online console play may need a separate paid platform subscription.

Does GTA+ work with GTA 6?

Not as far as anyone has announced. Rockstar has not said that GTA+ will include anything for GTA 6 or for a future GTA 6 online mode. GTA+ started in March 2022 as a GTA Online membership and is still sold as one, and Take-Two told investors in August 2026 that it "continues to thrive".

How to cancel before it renews

On PlayStation, cancel in Subscriptions Management in your account settings before the next payment date; the claim screen tells you the date the paid membership starts. On Xbox, cancel through your Microsoft account. On PC, GTA+ is sold through the Rockstar Store, Steam and Microsoft, and you cancel through the store you bought it from; a Rockstar Store membership cancels through your Rockstar Games account. Either way, the Rockstar Store's terms say access lasts until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Our take: a free month of GTA+ is worth claiming if you play GTA Online, and worth ignoring if you only want GTA 6's story, because nothing in it touches GTA 6. On PlayStation the long claim window is the useful part: save it for a month when GTA Online has an event you care about, then set a reminder to cancel before it renews.
