GTA 6 News Today (October 16, 2026): HR Chief Testifies

The GTA 6 news today comes from a Glasgow courtroom and the streets of Miami. Rockstar's head of HR told the employment tribunal that the studio was in "crisis mode" over GTA 6's delays when it fired 34 staff last October, while a Goodyear blimp reading "Vice City" flew over South Florida and the Wynwood Walls museum went free for locals in a deal with Rockstar. Nothing changed on dates or prices: GTA 6 still launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with preloading from November 12.

Rockstar's HR chief on the stand

Rob Spampinato, Rockstar's vice president of HR, gave evidence on Wednesday and Thursday at the Glasgow tribunal, the BBC and the PA news agency report. The case is over the 34 people Rockstar fired in October 2025; 23 of them are bringing claims, backed by the Independent Workers' Union of Great Britain (IWGB), that they were sacked for union activity. Rockstar says they were dismissed for sharing confidential information on a private Discord server.

According to the BBC, Spampinato called it "categorically not true" that he had asked a colleague to keep tabs on union membership. Asked why Rockstar waited until October 2025 to act on posts it had seen in 2024 and 2025, he said the company was in "crisis mode" over GTA 6's delays and needed the team "fully focused": "We were in a moment when we knew we were running late on the development." On Thursday the claimants' lawyer put it to him that the firings were "revenge" against the union, and PA quotes his answer: "That's preposterous." Fired workers held a rally outside the tribunal building the same morning, both outlets report.

Rockstar's statement, as PA carries it, is that staff "were dismissed for gross misconduct following the sharing of confidential company information, not because of alleged trade union membership or activity." The BBC and PA both say the hearing runs into November; the BBC expects it to finish before the game is out.

The Vice City blimp reaches Miami

The Goodyear blimp in Vice City colors is no longer just a fan photo. WSVN's 7Skyforce helicopter filmed it over South Florida on Thursday afternoon, October 15, with "Vice City" on its side. IGN had tracked it leaving Akron, Ohio, and heading south on October 12. Neither outlet says what the deal cost, and Goodyear and Rockstar have not commented.

Wynwood Walls goes free with GTA 6 art

Miami's Wynwood Walls street art museum now lets Miami-Dade County residents in free, through 2028, in what it calls a partnership with Rockstar Games. You need a valid photo or student ID with a Miami-Dade address; everyone else still pays, $12 for an adult ticket. The museum says it now shows new murals by artists featured in GTA 6, and the Miami Herald counts 10 of them, on view through January 1, 2027. An "Art of Vice City" merchandise line with the in-game artwork, from tees and hoodies to notebooks, is on pre-order from Wynwood Walls only.

A giant GTA 6 cover goes up near Paris

Since early October, the GTA 6 cover art has been going up strip by strip on one of the Mercuriales towers at Porte de Bagnolet, visible from the Paris ring road, jeuxvideo.com reports. Kotaku says it was finished on Thursday, and that two guns from Rockstar's cover art are missing: Lucia's pistol, with the hand holding it, and an assault rifle lower down. Nobody has said why, and Rockstar's own cover art still shows both guns.

What it means for players

Our take: the tribunal line worth remembering is Spampinato's. If Rockstar knew in October 2025 that it was "running late", the delay announced on November 6, 2025 was no surprise inside the studio, and that matches what Rockstar told Bloomberg this week about why the game slipped. Whatever the tribunal decides, it will not change your copy or the date. The Miami stunts tell you something too: nobody books a blimp and a museum for a date they expect to move, so we read them as Rockstar holding to November 19. If you live in Miami-Dade, Wynwood Walls is the one worth a visit: it is free for you, and the murals stay up until January 1, 2027.

• GTA 6 cars on Miami streets. IGN and GamesRadar report real cars styled as the Cheetah, Coquette D10, Tempesta, Manana and Emerus, plus a Lamborghini in Vice City police colors, driving through Miami with Leonida plates. Both rely on fan videos posted on X and Reddit, and Rockstar has not said the convoy is its own.
• Miami Beach branding in place. Fan sites and social posts show chairs and umbrellas on South Beach, but no local news outlet or the city has reported that the branding has started.
• What Jennifer Kolbe told the tribunal. The Rockstar executive gave evidence on Thursday and Friday, but so far only PA and the smaller site Vertical Slice have reported what she said, so we are waiting for a second major outlet.
• The tribunal's last day. Eurogamer reports closing submissions on November 17 and 18; the BBC and PA say only "November".
• The PC window and GTA 6 online in 2027. Those come from GamesBeat and Bloomberg, not from Rockstar or Take-Two.
• Who plays Jason and Lucia, and a Switch 2 version. Rockstar has announced neither.
