What Rockstar has shown
Base jumping is on Rockstar's list of GTA 6 side activities, as published from Game Informer's cover story (IGN, VICE). The footage backs it up: in An Extended Look, Lucia "indulges in a spot of base jumping, providing a fantastic view of Vice City", IGN writes. IGN's preview from Rockstar North also lists "parachute jumping" among the activities it saw Rob Nelson play.
Where you'll jump
Florida is flat, so GTA 6's best launch points are probably man-made. Lucia's jump is over Vice City, which suggests skyscrapers. Dexerto points to a real candidate: the WTVY-TV tower, which it calls Florida's tallest structure at 1,901 feet and "the perfect spot" for GTA players who like jumping off the tallest thing they can find. Rockstar hasn't confirmed a tower like it in Leonida. Mount Kalaga is the only named high ground, though Rockstar hasn't said how high it is.
Compared with GTA 5
Parachuting is a returning feature. GTA 5's first gameplay video in 2013 already showed a colourful parachute alongside golf and scuba diving (CBS News). GTA 6 adds a second protagonist and a city built for vertical views.

Our take: expect base jumping to be the activity with the best views in the game, not the deepest one. Rockstar chose a Vice City skyline jump to show it off, and a city that dense at sunset is a postcard. For players, the useful question is how you get up there: if rooftops are reachable on foot or by helicopter, base jumping doubles as a fast way down after a rooftop job. Whether aircraft are flyable is still open (our rumor check), which matters for skydiving beyond rooftop jumps.
What to watch for at launch
- Whether there are set jump challenges with landing targets.
- Which buildings or towers you can climb to jump from.
- Whether Jason and Lucia can jump together.
