The NINE 1 NINE nightclub

Where to spot it

NINE 1 NINE turns up three times in Rockstar's footage, which is a lot for a nightclub:

Where	What you see	Who spotted it
Trailer 1	A plane towing a NINE 1 NINE banner along Vice City's beach	Miami New Times
Trailer 2, 1:40	A packed dance floor under the club's sign	Dexerto
An Extended Look	An airborne ad for the club, again	IGN

The real club behind it

The nod is to E11EVEN, the nightclub in downtown Miami. Dexerto calls NINE 1 NINE "a clear nod" to it, and Miami New Times explains the detail that gives it away: anyone who has spent time on South Beach knows the procession of small planes towing ads along the shore, and E11EVEN is "perhaps the biggest offender". Rockstar copied the advertising habit as well as the number-for-a-name. The banner's slogan is a cheeky play on numbers that we'll let you read for yourself in the trailer.

Rockstar did the legwork

This is not guesswork from Edinburgh. IGN reports that Rockstar spent time in Florida researching the state first-hand, and that the studio confirmed visiting night clubs as part of that research. Miami New Times also matched a second club in Trailer 1 to Club Space, from its DJ booth to its hanging planters.

Our take: NINE 1 NINE is the best example so far of how GTA 6 parodies Miami. Rockstar didn't just rename a club; it copied what locals actually notice about it, the planes buzzing the beach, which is why South Florida readers spotted it within days. Expect the same treatment across Vice City: famous places reshaped, and their most recognisable habits kept. If you visit South Beach in the game, look up; we'd bet the banner planes fly there in free roam, not just in trailers. Whether you can party inside is covered on our NINE 1 NINE club page.

What to watch for at launch

• Whether banner planes fly over the beach in free roam.
• Whether NINE 1 NINE and the Club Space-style venue are both open to visit.
• Whether the club ties into Boobie Ike's or Dre'Quan's music storyline.
