GTA 6 easter egg

A train line above the streets

A raised rail line runs above a mural-covered street in Trailer 2 as police cars pass below. Dexerto reads it as Vice City's metro.

Where to pause

At 0:46 in Trailer 2, a raised rail line runs above a mural-covered street while police cars pass underneath. Dexerto, going through the trailer the day after release, says the metro appears in more than one shot and calls it "back". The link above opens Rockstar's upload at that second.

The real lines behind it

Downtown Miami is full of track in the air, so this is Rockstar copying the city closely:

Real system What it is Source
Metromover A free people mover running on raised track with 21 stations across downtown, Omni and Brickell, in three loops Miami-Dade County
Metrorail A 25-mile rapid transit line, raised above the streets, with 23 stations Miami Downtown Development Authority
A walkway to a Metromover stop Recreated in Vice City CBS News Miami

And the overlap may go further. WLRN reported in September 2026 that Miami-Dade's mayoral administration had met with Rockstar to propose tie-ins that would include Vice City-branded Metromover trains. None of it had come before county commissioners, and a commissioner and the sheriff spoke out against the wider rebranding, including renaming parts of Miami International Airport.

Can you ride it?

Rockstar hasn't said. The confirmed way to get around without driving is the Ryde Me ride-share app, which works as fast travel and lets you chat with other passengers (IGN preview). IGN also spotted Leonida city tour buses in the Extended Look and asked the same question: "can we ride on them, too?"

Our take: we'd be surprised if the train is just scenery. Rockstar recreated the walkway to a real Metromover stop, showed the line more than once, and built a city with narrow streets and dense traffic (IGN), which makes a train above the streets a natural escape route above the jams. But Ryde Me is the only transit Rockstar has described, so treat riding the metro as a hope until launch. If it is rideable, expect it to be the best free sightseeing tour of downtown Vice City.

What to watch for at launch

  • Whether you can board the train, and whether it is free like the real Metromover.
  • Whether stations work as hiding spots during a police chase.
  • How much of Vice City the line covers.
