"People Are People" by Depeche Mode plays on the car radio as Jason and Lucia leave their apartment and drive off in An Extended Look. By Game Rant's timestamps it starts at 8:21 and runs for about a minute and a half, the third-longest song in the video.

The song

Depeche Mode released "People Are People" in March 1984, from the album Some Great Reward. It was their first US hit, peaking at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 (Rolling Stone), and reached No. 4 on the UK Singles Chart. Rolling Stone called it "a rare song about racism", and Songfacts describes Martin Gore's lyric as a call for people to put their differences aside. After the Extended Look, Spotify's worldwide data shared with EDM.com showed its streams up 190% and playlist additions up 700%; Billboard's US count from Luminate had it up 89% over August 28 to 31.

The best evidence of in-game radio

Most songs in the video play over the footage or from a speaker in a room. This one plays from the car's radio while the couple drive, the closest thing so far to hearing a GTA 6 station working the way GTA radio always has. IGN's list of details from the video counts it among the songs it says are now known to be in the game.

Our take: if you want a guess at what one GTA 6 station sounds like, this is the strongest clue. 80s synth-pop on a car radio in Vice City reads like a nod to the era of Rockstar's earlier Vice City games, and Rockstar returned to that decade with Vice City Stories, set in 1984 (Kotaku). We expect an 80s station of some kind, but that is our reading: Rockstar has named no stations, and the song could sit on a station with a wider range. We will name the station here once the game is out.
