GTA 6 easter egg

The dates on the end cards

Shown in trailers

Trailer 1 ended on "Coming 2025" and Trailer 2 on "May 26, 2026". Rockstar later moved the game again, to November 19, 2026, so neither card holds any more.

What the cards say

Each trailer ended on a promise. Trailer 1 (December 2023) closed on "Coming 2025" at 1:25, and Trailer 2 (May 6, 2025) closed on "May 26, 2026" at 2:42. Both timestamps link to Rockstar's own uploads. GTA 6 now launches on November 19, 2026, after Rockstar announced a second delay on November 6, 2025, so neither card holds any more.

How far each card missed

We counted the gap between each card and the real launch date:

End card Shown Final date How far off
"Coming 2025" Trailer 1, December 4, 2023 November 19, 2026 The whole of 2025 passed; at least 323 days past the end of the promised year
"May 26, 2026" Trailer 2, May 6, 2025 November 19, 2026 177 days

The date on Trailer 2's card was only four days old when the trailer came out: Rockstar had announced the move to May 26, 2026 on May 2, 2025, and Trailer 2 followed on May 6. So its end card was the freshest promise Rockstar could make, and it still slipped once more.

Why it is worth knowing

The end cards are a small time capsule of GTA 6's development. Our GTA 6 timeline tracks every date Rockstar and Take-Two have given, from "coming 2025" through the two delays to the June 2026 pre-orders. The signs now point one way: pre-orders open since June 25, 2026, a pre-load date and a store release time, which is why our delay rumor check rates another delay as debunked for now.

Our take: the end cards are the best argument for trusting dates only when stores and pre-loads back them up. "Coming 2025" was a year, "May 26, 2026" was a day, and both slipped; November 19 is the first date that came with pre-orders, a pre-load and a store listing behind it. If Rockstar ever releases a Trailer 3, its end card will most likely carry November 19, and that would be the first trailer date that held. That last line is our expectation, not an announcement.

What to watch for at launch

  • Whether a Trailer 3 arrives before November 19, and what its end card says.
  • Whether the old end cards are referenced in the game itself.
