Pound Town

"Pound Town" by Sexyy Red and Tay Keith plays on a stereo inside the drug den in An Extended Look. It picks up straight after "Pop Bottles" as Jason and Lucia walk in, and runs for about 47 seconds by Game Rant's timestamps (0:46 to 1:33).

The song

Sexyy Red released "Pound Town" with producer Tay Keith in January 2023, and TikTok turned it into her breakout. A remix, "Pound Town 2", added Nicki Minaj in May 2023 and gave both Sexyy Red and Tay Keith their first Billboard Hot 100 entries (Billboard). Billboard has also reported that the original was said to be her first time freestyling on a record.

Why it fits the scene

This is music heard inside the world, not laid over the footage: it comes from the room's own speakers. That matters, because it shows Rockstar treating music as part of the place. A blown-out stereo in a drug den would play something loud, recent and online-famous, and "Pound Town" is all three. It is also one of the most explicit songs in the video, which fits an M-rated game set in a version of today, with phones and social media all through Rockstar's footage.

Our take: a viral rap hit from just a few years before launch is the clearest sign that GTA 6's music will feel current, not only retro. Rockstar has not said whether "Pound Town" is on a radio station or only plays in this location, and the in-world speaker hints at the second. We will confirm where it plays after November 19, including whether you can hear it again outside the mission.
